Thanks to all our supporters
We would like to express their sincere thanks for help given to aid the ponies. This assistance can be in the form of volunteers who give their time and effort through to the generous donations that have been sent to the Moorland Mousie Trust. These contributions come from individuals and companies alike and all at the centre and the trustees are very grateful.
We list at the bottom of this page the companies who have assisted us. The drug companies who contributed towards the medical needs of the ponies and Davisons Accountants in South Molton who have gone well beyond the call of duty.
We are continually updating this list so apologise if your company is not listed yet.

We have received a letter from Verity Lunn - we would like to thank Verity for her kind letter and support. Verity wrote:-
I first heard about the Moorland Mousie Trust at the BHS tent at Badminton Horse Trials. I have had an interest In Exmoor ponies for ages now. And it was great to hear about a centre being built especially for them.
When my school told us to start thinking about where we wanted to do work experience, I immediately thought of the Exmoor Pony centre. My riding school keeps trying to get me to ride horses, because they think that at 15 I ”ought” to be doing so. I still much prefer ponies though, especially Exmoors, so spending two weeks with Exmoor Ponies was to me a wonderful idea. I wrote to Val in November asking for a work experience placement that was not going to be until July!
Even though the centre was not fully open when I was there, I still had a great time. First thing on the first morning I was there I was taken into a field where there were eight Exmoors to be introduced to them. To me at that stage they all looked identical, as I had only been around a maximum of two at a time before. After two weeks I can tell most of them apart!
During the first week I did a lot of riding on the moor, which was brilliant. I have only ridden on the moor a few times before, and never on an Exmoor. I also learnt about using body language to control the pony from the ground and how to long rein, which is what I was doing when the teacher from my school came on a visit to see how I was getting on. I think she was quite surprised – not many people get to do this on work experience.
The second week was very hot, so there was not a lot of riding, but I still enjoyed it just as much. We did a lot more work with the youngsters and I got to help with the backing and breaking in of Lucy and Tom. I even got to ride Tom twice, but there was never any danger of him taking off and being uncontrollable – the challenge was getting him to move anywhere!
Usually work experience placements with horses or ponies mostly involve mucking out, but I think the nearest I got to that over the two weeks was cleaning a few bridges, and I quite like tack cleaning anyway. Who said work experience was hard work? I really enjoyed my two weeks work experience at the Exmoor Pony centre. So much so, that I am coming back as a volunteer
