An Exmoor Pony adoption pack - the perfect gift!
An Exmoor pony adoption pack makes the perfect gift, for adults or children, for just about any occasion. Many are bought as birthday; christening, Christmas or anniversary presents while some people just treat themselves!
There are currently a number of ponies available for adoption (see adoption form); ranging from riding ponies to youngsters on conservation schemes even a working stallion and a prize winning show pony, truly something for everyone.
Adopters receive a welcome pack, which includes a photograph, exclusive pin-badge, certificate and then regular quarterly updates plus photos for 12 months. The bulk of your subscription money will be put to good use looking after the ponies in MMT care.
Ponies are based on Exmoor, in County Durham and Northumberland and many adopters are able to visit their ponies. Be aware ponies are sometimes moved around, if it is important that you can visit your pony in a certain area please seek advice from us before sending in your form.
With the centre open on Exmoor it may be possible for some adopters to come and ride their chosen pony – subject to availability, riding ability and weight restrictions of course!

It couldn't be simpler, just download an adoption form, choose your pony, complete your details and send off with your cheque to MMT. If you wish it to arrive by a certain date please remember to give us 28 days notice to prepare your individual pack.
Foal Sponsorship
The Foal Sponsorship Scheme is now in its fith year. Each autumn The Trust offers a safety net by buying up registered Exmoor foals (usually colts) that have not been sold at the annual gatherings (round ups). Although their initial purchase cost is low it costs several hundred pounds per foal (transport, delousing, worming, feeding, castration, handling) to get the foal from unhandled colt foal, straight off the moor, to handled, socialised yearling gelding ready to start his domestic life with a new family. This is where The Foal Sponsors' come in….
There are four categories for Foal Sponsorship (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum). These cost from £100 to £300 as one off payments per foal. The sponsor is allocated their own foal, and will receive a certificate, pin badge, photographs and updates for the foal’s first year with the Trust. (see sponsor form);
Sponsors’ enjoy following the foal through the trials and tribulations of the early handling and can be sometimes surprised by the outcome. A past foal became a prize winning yearling, while another was plucked from virtual obscurity on a grazing scheme, on the strength of his breeding, to become a potential stud stallion – you just never know what will happen to your foal!
Anyone, individuals or companies, interested in sponsoring a foal in autumn 2008 please get in touch with the MMT office for an application form as soon as possible, as opportunities will be limited. It is so rewarding and worthwhile, giving a pony a real chance in life, that most sponsors have repeated their sponsorship each year with a 'new' foal.
